My husband asked what I’m doing today. I’m quite busy, actually. I designed it that way.
After I finish exercising (in my pajamas), I’m going to get ready for the day. Experiment with toppings on my ricotta toast, share a banana with Bruno, the usual. My next priority is to get the day’s writing done. I like to take as much time as I need for this part. I am a writer, after all.
Then I might try making one of my usual bread recipes in a whole wheat version. It’s worth a shot. I’ll probably sweep and steam the floors because I meant to do it two days ago, but Tuesday got away from me. I was okay with it. The floors aren’t a project as much as a never ending cycle. I can jump in and do my part whenever I want. The dirt will collect at the same pace regardless of when I participate.
Later I have parent/teacher conferences. A few hours after that is knit night. During which I probably won’t even knit. Just talk about life and our upcoming Best Friends 50th Birthday Trip. The three of us have been best friends for over 35 years, we don’t really need to call it knit night to get together, but we do.
This is my kind of busyness. I leave space so that when I see something that needs to be done, I have time to do it. When I have a brilliant idea, I can pick up some knitting needles and yarn to test it out.
My day is full, not frantic.
Now that I’ve emptied this thought into a doc, it’s time to see if I can bake something delicious with whole wheat flour. Wish me luck.
